Toyota Landcruiser HZJ76 / HZJ78 / HZJ79 R151 to H151/H152 CONVERSION KIT
OK, so your HZJ79 R151 gearbox does not have a bolt on/off transfer which is why it’s always sold as a married unit. That means for your conversion, you will need a gearbox AND transfer. You cannot use your old transfer.
BE AWARE – Unfortunately the traditional factory turbo H151 gearbox has a trade-off in that whilst its twice the size inside, you will lose 300rpm in 5th gear because it only has 200rpm between 4th & 5th, whereas you have 500rpm difference in your current gearbox. This will make your motor scream at 100kmph in 5th gear and also use more fuel. This is why we offer this gearbox with a taller 5th to match your current ratios which is an added expense.

Included in this kit is a TOYOTA LANDCRUISER TOWPACK® Overdrive Gearbox with taller 5th gear AND part time transfer = $8550 inc. GST.
It also includes the $4995 conversion kit which includes all brand new parts required for your conversion including bellhousing, 300mm flywheel, shifters, bolts, boots & associated clutch parts. ** Please note these parts are mostly brand new – this is NOT a bunch of second hand parts **
We can do the conversion in-house – we charge $2550 labour, plus oils (just add to your order, and we’ll book you in for the next available date).
These gearboxes are sold on an Exchange basis with a refundable $660 core deposit*. We accept your old HZJ79 gearbox & transfer for the exchange.
